Now on to the winners of Week 9.
The winners of week 9 who are collecting their prizes from Stephen in The Pet Parlour are:
BEST PANDEMIC POOCH
Sinead Ryan with Rose: The Pet Parlour €50 Voucher
"This is Rose, she is a 7 year old Pug X Jack Russell who lives in Dublin. She does not enjoy being forced to leave her warm bed for extra walks but she loves that her humans are around all the time. When it is sunny Rose likes to sit on the hill in our local park and people watch, which she is doing in the photo. She is very friendly and enjoys being admired by all. However, if another person is unlucky enough to be out for a walk with huskey or a large dog with fluffy fur blowing in the wind, Rose will bark like only an intimidated tiny dog can, much to the embarrassment of her humans and shock to eardrums everywhere. "
BEST PANDEMIC POOCH RUNNER UPS
1. Greta Bourke with Bellona: The Pet Parlour €20 Voucher
Greta shared "Our special Bellona is a Dogue de Bordeaux. She arrived to our home in the middle of the pandemic, just when we were losing motivation to go out for daily walks and thought we’d never make friends or fall in love again. Bellona changed all that with her stubborn insistence on twice daily walks, her love of children and nature and her endless affection for us poor mortals. She is a precious gift and we are so happy to welcome her as part of our family as she was destined to spend the rest of her days in a dog home.
Long live lovely Bellona! "
2. Joanne Farrelly with Rua: The Pet Parlour €20 Voucher
"Joanne Farrelly here introducing the very cute and loveable Rua.
We welcomed Rua to her forever home in February this year. She is a 7 month miniature dapple dachshund with a disproportionately big personality! Despite her small stature she’s overflowing with courage and bravery and is constantly on the look out for new things to explore and discover. She loves playing with other dogs and never shy’s away from meeting new friends. I’m so grateful to have this little ray of sunshine in my life, there’s not a day goes by where her quirky personality doesn’t leave us in stitches. Whether it’s up and at ‘em for an early morning hike or snoozing until late morning after a busy week this little one is always by my side, an additional limb I couldn’t be without!!"
BEST COVID CAT
Helen Quinlan with Lulu: The Pet Parlour €50 Voucher
Helen shared "I would like to enter our new Covid Kitten for the Pandemic Pets Competition. Her name is Lulu ( named by my granddaughter) . She arrived into our lives 2 weeks ago, I was worried about her settling in but she moved in and ruled the roost from day 1. We lost our own cat last year ( she lived to the ripe old age of 18yrs!) We were devastated and I was determined I was not getting another pet. But a cousin of mine contacted me about an abandoned kitten she found, once I saw the photo my heart melted and before I knew it I was now the mammy to a new kitten! It was love at first sight. She has been so much fun and brought us a new lease of life after months of cocooning and now instead of watching TV we are now sitting watching her very funny antics! She has already tried to escape up the chimney twice! "
( All vouchers are to spend in the Pet Parlour, Terenure )
THE PET PARLOUR HAMPER WINNERS - Sponsored by The Pet Parlour
1. Lisa Mahony with Molly
Lisa shared "I thought I’d send in one more entry since I’m pretty proud of this one. I’m a theatre lighting technician and production manager and have my niche fandoms as do all proper nerds.
Last week I was testing some lights in a venue I’ve been doing a bit of voluntary work in and had Moll with me. She makes a good subject so I lit her nicely and took a picture for Instagram. The Marc Brickman who I’m connected to on Instagram liked it! I’ve been a massive fan of his work lighting Pink Floyd for over 20 years so I was chuffed so say the least. Mollie the Collie didn’t care of course….took it in her stride and went back to fighting the forces of evil (also know as killing her toys)…"
2. Judith Murnaghan with Chloe
Judith shared "Chloe is our 20 month old beagle. She has been wonderful for all the family during this pandemic, keeping everyone busy walking and smiling all the time!! She has loved having company in the house these past few months."
Please contact Stephen in the Pet Parlour to collect your hamper as he will have your details.
